Carpenter / Builder
An opportunity exists for a Carpenter / Builder with 3+ years experience to join our talented and growing construction team at DStevens in Gisborne.
DStevens has an established reputation for delivering high-quality, award-winning, and enduring construction, joinery and interiors projects. For 68+ years our teams have delivered a range of high-profile commercial, residential (new homes and renovations), retail, and education projects throughout Gisborne and the wider Tairāwhiti region.
This is an exciting time to be joining our team. We have an incredible list of construction projects ahead of us and are investing in new tools and equipment to give us more time to do the fun stuff we enjoy – such as connecting with our customers, creating beautiful award-winning buildings, and delivering top-notch service.
As a Builder, you will be part of a site team involved in the construction of new buildings and renovations – including but not limited to: demolition, concrete work, erecting temporary or permanent steel and timber structures, measuring and cutting, using hand tools or power tools, and fixing of materials and high quality finishes. You will also be involved with receiving, handling and storing materials around site, and lifting to-and-from vehicles.
We are seeking a team player who is reliable, honest, hard working and self-motivated. To be successful in this role you will have a proactive and positive attitude, a flexible and methodical approach, and the ability to work well in a team.
We believe in the beauty of craftsmanship. Experience in using a mix of hand-operated tools and high-performance machinery is preferred but not essential (training will be provided).
