Awards Season
Over the years DStevens has been very successful at the Registered Master Builders House of the Year and Commercial Project Awards. DStevens takes pride in their pursuit for quality and attention to detail. “Quality control is something that is extremely important to us,” says Peter Stevens, Managing Director of DStevens. “We build our reputation on the success of our previous projects and pride ourselves on our high level of workmanship.” In the past 19 years the company has been awarded more than 65 local and national awards for their buildings, including the two local Supreme Awards.
DSTEVENS HAS RECEIVED MORE THAN 60 LOCAL AND NATIONAL AWARDS, INCLUDING SUPREME HOUSE OF THE YEAR. TWICE.
In 1996 DStevens was awarded a National Gold award at the House of the Year for a home built in Whataupoko, Gisborne. “The National Awards represent the top entrants from 11 regions throughout New Zealand,” says DStevens’ interior designer Fiona Houston-Stevens. In 2002 alone, DStevens won five local Gold awards and was crowned the National Gold winner for renovations over $100,000. Five years later, the construction company was awarded Gold in two categories and was presented with local Supreme Awards for their two projects entered in the residential and commercial categories. “The success of our projects has been built on a thorough understanding of our clients,” says Peter. “Our depth and breadth of construction experience is unique in Gisborne and wider New Zealand.”
Last year, DStevens had further success as a national gold finalist in the residential and renovation categories - but one award the team at DStevens is particularly proud of is being the recipient of a National Gold Award for construction of Gisborne’s St John Ambulance Redevelopment in 2013. On receiving the award, Peter dedicated it to his father, the late Derek Stevens, who founded the company 60 years ago this year.
