Peter Stevens Celebrates 50 Years at DStevens
This month, we celebrate an incredible milestone for Peter Stevens, who marks 50 years with DStevens.
From his early days as a carpentry apprentice in 1975 to becoming Managing Director in 1998, Peter has made a significant impact at DStevens and has been a key figure in the building industry across Gisborne and Tairāwhiti.
Peter’s career has seen him work on hundreds of construction projects, shaping much of Gisborne’s built environment. His leadership has been instrumental in delivering projects like Tui Te Ora at Gisborne Hospital, industrial developments for Cedenco, Pioneer Seeds, and Montana Wines, as well as numerous new homes and renovations throughout the region. He has also played a key role in developing educational facilities at schools across Tairāwhiti, creating spaces that support learning and growth.
Beyond his project work, Peter has been a strong advocate for the construction industry. Over the years, he has mentored countless apprentices, supported local schools to promote careers in building, and held leadership roles with the Tairāwhiti Polytechnic (now EIT) Apprenticeship Board and East Coast Registered Master Builders Association. His influence has helped raise building standards and strengthen the industry across the region.
Peter’s dedication, hard work, and collaborative approach have left a lasting mark on DStevens, the people he’s worked with, and the wider community.
As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we want to thank Peter for his immense contributions over the past five decades. It’s an honour to work alongside someone who has shaped both our company and our community.
Congratulations, Peter, on this incredible achievement. Here’s to many more years of success!
