DStevens Achieves 100% Safety Rating for Third Consecutive Year

We’re proud to announce that DStevens has achieved a 100% safety rating for the third year running in an independent audit, conducted by SiteWise. This result reflects the strength of our health and safety processes and our continued efforts to improve safety standards across our operations.

Our Ongoing Commitment to Safety

Health and safety is at the core of what we do. Our systems and procedures are designed not only to meet compliance standards but to ensure that everyone returns home safely at the end of each day.

The construction industry presents unique challenges, and we take all necessary steps to manage the risks. Whether it's rigorous hazard identification, detailed risk management, or regular incident reporting, we ensure our offices, workshops, and project sites adhere to the highest safety standards. In fact, we go beyond compliance—our goal is to empower everyone on-site, from employees to subcontractors, to actively participate in maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

Our protocols are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure we stay ahead of industry best practices. We are fully committed to complying with the requirements of New Zealand’s Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and related regulations, with every action focused on keeping our people safe.

A Growing Focus on Mental Health

In recent years, there has been increasing recognition of the importance of mental health within the construction industry. At DStevens, we are proud to integrate mental health awareness into our safety practices, creating a culture of care that supports both the physical and mental well-being of our team.

We understand that a truly safe workplace doesn’t only focus on managing physical risks. By fostering open dialogue around mental health and creating supportive environments, we ensure the holistic health of our team. We believe that prioritising both mental and physical health is essential for long-term success, and we are committed to promoting mental well-being within the construction industry.

Looking Ahead: A Culture of Continuous Improvement

While we’re honoured to have achieved a 100% rating for 2024, we know that safety is a continuous journey. Our commitment to improvement doesn’t stop here. By maintaining our Gold status accreditation and evolving our practices, we ensure that safety remains the foundation of everything we do.

This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the diligence, dedication, and hard work of our entire team. As we look to the future, we remain focused on pushing the boundaries of health and safety excellence, ensuring that every project we complete is a step towards a safer, healthier workplace for all.
